The Nigerian writer, Chinyere G. Madugba, forcefully argues that anyone who desires to be used by God must go through the painful process of being broken. Brokenness is seen as the state in which the sinner, born into the family of God, is sent into His spiritual refinery for pruning that would eventually transform him or her into a meek personality whose life is radically abandoned to the Creator. The Holy Spirit needs complete access to every area of the Christian's life, otherwise God's working pattern cannot be understood.
